FreshCo Supermarkets in Toronto, Canada

FreshCo is a Canadian discount supermarket chain owned by Sobeys.

FreshCo uses the slogan, “Fresher, Cheaper.” If you aren’t satisfied with an item, bring it back with your receipt within 14 days and they’ll give you your money back.

FreshCo offers “price match”. If a major supermarket competitor within your local store’s geographic trade area offers a lower price on any item that FreshCo carries, simply show a FreshCo cashier the competitor’s price in their flyer/ad (current) or on their receipt (within 7 days of purchase) and FreshCo will sell you that item for 1¢ less. Applies to identical items (same brand, item type (in the case of produce, meat and bakery), size and attributes) or comparable items in the case of private label. Does not apply to prescriptions or gift cards. Excludes ‘spend x get x’; clearance sales, and ‘free’ promotions and discounts obtained through loyalty or other preferred customer programs. Does not apply to competition misprints or withdrawn or corrected advertisements. FreshCo limits quantities to 2 identical products/flavours.

Good news for tourists: there is a FreshCo supermarket right behind Gladstone Hotel on Queen Street West and The Drake Hotel is just one block away.

Back to Toronto

I’ve just come back from sunny Hawaii yesterday. A snowstorm hit Toronto today.

The weather is really bad. But Daniel told me there’s a paycheck for me and I need to sign the contract for my parttime webmaster job. So I decided to go downtown after all.

When I met up with Daniel and told him I need a long vacation this summer. He decided not to sign the contract with me and didn’t even give me the paycheck for my previous work. I don’t care. They don’t pay me well anyway.

Bus Trip to Buffalo, New York

I bought my bus ticket from Coach Canada. The round-trip adult fare is $46.75 (open ticket, no tax, 15% refund fee).

Greyhound and Coach Canada almost always share the same bus terminal in every city. In Toronto, the bus terminal is Toronto Coach Terminal at 610 Bay Street.

Coach Canada’s website is http://www.coachcanada.com

Greyhound’s website is http://www.greyhound.ca/

I took subway to Dundas Station, then walked along the undergound PATH west to Toronto Coach Terminal. PATH is downtown Toronto’s underground walkway linking 27 kilometres of shopping, services and entertainment. Follow PATH and you’ll reach your downtown destination easily in weatherproof comfort.

Boxing Day 2

I went to Fairview Mall today. 50% off deals were still everywhere while I couldn’t find anything I’d like to buy among those on sale items.

One of the MEXX white shirt I liked didn’t have small sizes. Most were XXL, XL and L. The smallest was M which looked still pretty large and wasn’t even white anymore. I must be really crazy if I bought it.

The H&M in Fairview Mall was pretty small and didn’t have many items on sale. Only those with red tag were on sale (50% off the already reduced price) and most of them were for women. The prices were really low though, eg: some $69.99 girls jeans were now only $9.98.

I left Fairview Mall empty-handed. But I some Nike stuff at Winners on my way home. At Winners, only those clearance items with red tags get 25% additional discount.

I’m happy while tired now.
