Toronto Dyke March and more on Pride Saturday

Toronto proudly hosts one of the largest Pride Festivals in the world. Pride Saturday is one of the busiest day of Toronto’s Pride Festival, second only to Pride Sunday when the Pride Parade is held. The Toronto Dyke March is held on Pride Saturday. Saturday is much less crowded than Sunday, so it’s the best time to check out the street fair and those free shows at several stages around Church Wellesley Village.

Streetfair

Pride Toronto Streetfair is not just a place to grab some food or intriguing products, it’s also a place to people-watch and take selfies.

Not only Canadian Armed Forces come to recruit at the Pride, Canada’s secret agency CSIS does the same.

Toronto Centre Island Trip and Toronto Dragon Boat Festival

Toronto Dragon Boat Festival is an annual event held on the quiet, relaxing, beautiful Toronto Islands which are just a short ferry ride away from the city’s downtown core.

The Toronto mainland dock is near the base of Bay Street, south of Queens Quay. You can get there by subway to Union Station and get on a southbound streetcar, either the 509 or 510.

There is a central dock on the Toronto mainland from which three ferry routes serve the islands. One goes to Hanlan’s Point, one goes to Centre Island and the third goes to Ward’s Island. You can walk between the three docks on the islands. So you can’t really take the wrong ferry.

You may also take a ferry taxi to the islands and this is your only option when ferry workers are on strike.
