Free Tai Chi Classes

Toronto Harbourfront Centre’s free outdoor tai chi classes were so popular that they will resume on Tuesdays throughout the summer (except Canada Day). Learn the movements of this ancient Chinese martial art in our new Exhibition Common. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, soft shoes and bring a mat.

Tai chi, an ancient Chinese exercise for health, cultivates both body and mind to restore and maintain good health. Today, tai chi is one of the world’s most popular exercises which is practiced by millions of people of all ages. Tai chi has an extra degree of stretching and turning in each movement, placing the emphasis on health improvement.

Each class will begin with 15 minutes of warm up exercises including meridian stretches. The rest of the class will be devoted to learning the moves of the set. The whole set takes fifteen to twenty minutes to complete when you become familiar with the moves.

Classes are led by instructor Eti Greenberg.
