Duo Charged With Robbing Air Asia X Female Executive

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) — Two men pleaded not guilty at the Ampang Sessions Court near here on Thursday to a charge of robbing a female executive of an airline company, Air Asia X, who later died after being hit by a car in an incident two weeks ago.

School bus driver Azizee Ishak, 25, and unemployed Mohamad Faiz Amirol Mohamad, 22, were alleged to have committed the gang-robbery against Shahrinawati Abu Bakar, 30, in front of the Palm Villa City Garden Condominium in Taman Nirwana, Ampang at 2.45am on Aug 29.

The charge under Section 395 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping if convicted.

Judge Manira Mohd Nor allowed the duo bail of RM10,000 in one surety each and ordered them to report to the nearest police station on the first day of every month.

She also set Oct 8 for re-mention.

It was reported that the victim was heading home when she was robbed by the duo before being hit by a car driven by a man who was trying to help her.

The victim died on the spot.

Deputy public prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie prosecuted, while the duo were represented by lawyer Dony Abdullah.
