I took Tune Hotel shuttle bus from Johor Bahru, Malsysia to visit Sentosa – a popular island resort in Singapore.

Start your expedition inside a gallery packed with interactive exhibits before venturing into the Imbiah forest reserve via an elevated boardwalk that was once the monorail’s tracks!

The 1.8-km Nature Walk then meanders through a secondary rainforest, giving you a chance to learn all about the birds, insects, wildlife, habitats and plants that can be found on Sentosa. And it doesn’t stop there. You’ll also pick up a variety of nature detective skills to use wherever your travels take you next! Keep your eyes peeled for interesting vegetation such as insectivorous pitcher plants and Tembusu trees. You may also be lucky enough to spot long-tailed macaques, squirrels, geckos, and over 20 species of birds.

The 11-storey, 181 meters long Fort Siloso Skywalk trail provides guests a scenic trek among the treetops en route to Fort Siloso. Both the Skywalk and Fort Siloso are free for all, and there are also guided tours at Fort Siloso for a more detailed historical account of the area.

Sentosa has a stretch of sheltered beach of more than 2 km (1.2 mi) on its southern coast, divided into three portions: Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach, and Tanjong Beach. These beaches are artificial, reclaimed using sand bought from Indonesia and Malaysia. They are manned by the best beach patrol lifeguard team in Singapore. The lifeguards wear red and yellow uniforms and patrols the beaches of Sentosa.

An unnamed U-shaped artificial sandy islet is linked to Palawan Beach on Sentosa by a simple suspension bridge. The islet has two lookout towers, and there is a sign on the islet erected by the Sentosa Development Corporation declaring that it is the “southernmost point of Continental Asia”

This may be disputed on the ground that the islet is not part of Continental Asia since it is only linked to Sentosa by a bridge. Sentosa itself is connected to the main island of Singapore by a causeway, and Singapore is in turn linked to Peninsular Malaysia by two causeways. In addition, another beach on Sentosa called Tanjong Beach is further south than the islet.

MegaZip Adventure Park is located at the top of Mount Imbiah, MegaZip Adventure Park is Singapore’s first adventure park with one of the longest and steepest zip wires in Asia, a 12m high ropes course, a free-fall parachute simulator and a challenging climbing wall. It was visited on the sixteenth season of the American reality show, The Amazing Race.
