首次現身多倫多的電音三太子是今年文化節的一大亮點．台灣民間的三太子就是托塔李天王的三子哪吒．電音三太子將原來是鄉間和廟會用來降妖除魔的神聖儀式，結合了現代舞蹈及音樂元素，一躍成為萬眾矚目的焦點，全家大小都可以一同參加的娛樂活動。
台灣美食一向是台灣文化節的重頭戲，今年也不例外．

About Mikoshi (Portable Shrine):
A mikoshi is a portable Shinto shrine. Shinto followers believe that it serves as the vehicle of a divine spirit in Japan at the time of a parade of deities. Often, the mikoshi resembles a miniature building, with pillars, walls, a roof, a veranda and a railing. During a matsuri, or Japanese festival, people bear a mikoshi on their shoulders by means of the two or four poles. They bring the mikoshi from the shrine, carry it around the neighborhoods that worship at the shrine.

2011 International Taoist Tai Chi Awareness Day
Hundreds of people turned up today to celebrate the annual International Taoist Tai Chi Awareness Day at Dundas Square, downtown Toronto.
This special event is presented by the International Taoist Tai Chi Society and the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism.
Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits.
Zhang Sanfeng, a highly mythologised figure, lived in the Wudang Mountains, said to be the founder of Tai Chi.

Fort York, Toronto
Built in 1793, Fort York National Historic Site is the birthplace of urban Toronto. It is best known as the location where the Battle of York came to its violent climax in 1813 during the War of 1812. The Fort served as the city’s primary harbour defence between the 1790s and the 1880s, and was the home of a military garrison until the 1930s.
Toronto Dyke March and more on Pride Saturday
Toronto proudly hosts one of the largest Pride Festivals in the world. Pride Saturday is one of the busiest day of Toronto’s Pride Festival, second only to Pride Sunday when the Pride Parade is held. The Toronto Dyke March is held on Pride Saturday. Saturday is much less crowded than Sunday, so it’s the best time to check out the street fair and those free shows at several stages around Church Wellesley Village.
