Passenger records rough handling of luggage by AirAsia

KUCHING: Facebook user Wong Kee Hock has taken to social media to express his disgust at the way baggage handlers of AirAsia threw his luggage around, resulting in some of his belongings ending up broken.

The trainee at Hilton Kuching was shocked at the unprofessional handling of passengers’ baggage before his AK775 flight from Kuching to Singapore took off and decided to record it for the “world to see”.

The 1.39-minute video clip showed two employees at work, with one carelessly hurling passengers’ luggage and boxes into a waiting loading compartment.

Airlines protest Thailand’s proposal to end open-sky policy

Thai airlines spoke out against a proposal to restrict the number of flights per airport, put forward by the government due to congested airspace and safety concerns, a news report said Sunday.

Thailand’s Transport Minister Prajin Janthong Friday said the government was considering reimposing limits on incoming flights, discontinuing the country’s open sky policy in place since 2001.

The proposal to fix limits according to each airport’s designed capacity would be submitted to the cabinet for approval by September, Prajin said.

Suicide Squad shuts down Yonge Street, yet again

One of the biggest movies ever filmed in Toronto will, once again, shut down a stretch of Yonge Street tonight as Suicide Squad films a high-speed chase.

It’s the latest scene the Hollywood movie — about a team of supervillains from DC Comics — has shot on location around the city.

Over the weekend the cast and crew filmed a helicopter crash in the financial district, and earlier this month a train scene shut down the Union Station bus terminal. Yonge Street was shut down last month for another chase scene and, prior to that, for a plane crash.
