Happy Place

Happy Place, an interactive, immersive exhibit with larger-than-life installations and multi-sensory themed rooms, is on a mission to spread happiness around the world. Happiness comes in the form of half a million pieces of confetti in the world’s largest indoor confetti dome, a jump into a pot of happiness from the top of a 20-foot-tall double rainbow, 7-foot stilettos made of a million candies, and the 40,000 immersive flowers of the Super Bloom Room. Happy Place features 20,000 square feet of whimsical spaces and happy moments.

Following massive sold-out runs in LA and Chicago, Happy Place is making its first international stop in Toronto.

Taxed Out

Intense, rapid development in Toronto has led to massive hikes in commercial property values and taxes. Independent businesses are feeling the crunch. Many have closed, and more are threatened by rising space costs.

Presenting Taxed Out, our first gallery exhibition, which through a curated collection of statistics, photography and other visuals illustrates the very real impact of tax policy on the main streets we love.

Benjamin Brown and the Balfour Building, Toronto

Toronto’s first accredited Jewish architect, Benjamin Brown graduated from the architectural school at the University of Toronto in 1913. Excluded from the WASP-ish old-boys’ network of architects that then prevailed, he attained commissions from a circle of wealthy Jewish businessmen – with names like Gelber, Dunkelman, Cherry, Greisman and Pomerantz – who became his champions. His career reached its zenith in the 1930s. Most conversant in art deco and art nouveau styles, he also utilized more traditional elements from Georgian, Gothic, Tudor, Romanesque and other styles.
Balfour Building, Toronto
Balfour Building, arguably one of Brown’s most important commissions, which, along with his Tower Building across the street, is considered an architectural “gateway” to the garment district. Built for the Shiffer-Hillman clothing company and completed in 1930, the Balfour Building amply demonstrates Brown’s superlative sense of scale and proportion

UNIQLO Mobile E-Commerce Pop-Up

The purpose of the pop-up shop is to celebrate and build buzz around the newly launched UNIQLO mobile e-commerce site.

The pop-up shop allows people who enter to browse UNIQLO favourites while feeling like they have stepped into the mobile site, thanks to the way the space is designed!

Those who go through the pop-up will receive a free HEATTECH sample by downloading the UNIQLO CA app and following the steps to complete membership registration.
