英国伦敦的国家肖像画廊可以免费入场参观。画廊汇聚了英国历史名人的肖像，不定期还举办特展，例如目前正在举办的2016 BP肖像大奖特展就是免费的，吸引了如山般人潮，把展厅挤个水泄不通。
国家肖像画廊常设展的参观顺序是由楼上至楼下，由古至今。观众入场后可以搭乘大厅长长的电动扶梯直达顶楼，开始参观。
