Is AirAsia honest?

By Fomiya Fahim

On June 20, five of our family members boarded an AirAsia flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur at 9.45am and arrived at Kuala Lumpur at approximately 10.40am.

While disembarking, I left a lady’s purse containing gold and other valuables on the seat.

While still at the airport, after about 20 to 30 minutes when we found out that it had been missing, we ran towards the gate where we had previously disembarked.

The doors were closed, the crew was not there and the plane was moving to go to some other destination.

We left our complaint at the lost and found desk and were told that we will get our purse back in the evening when the plane was to return from Vietnam.

However, we were later told that no such bag was found by the lost and found desk when we contacted it.

Not satisfied with the answer, we tried contacting Airasia but no email contact was available.

Left without a choice we lodged a complaint through the feedback box on the Airasia website which sent an automated email (CAS-8008375-ZQMKYZ) on July 9 telling us that they will look into my complaint and revert.

But even after one month, I still haven’t received any response from AirAsia.

Recently, my friend’s husband forgot his jacket at the Dubai
airport.

The Emirates Airlines people were so nice to not only recover the
jacket but having it returned free of cost all the way back to
Karachi.

I was under the impression that Malaysia offers the same level of
honesty and services but alas I was proven wrong.

What is wrong with Malaysia? I had a very good image of Malaysia “truly Asia,” but that had been shattered during this recent visit.
