The TD Festival of South Asia creates a window into the East to celebrate and experience the culture and cuisine of South Asia.

It takes place from 23rd – 24th August, 2014 in Gerrard India Bazaar from 12:00-11:00 p.m.

The TD Festival of South Asia creates a window into the East to celebrate and experience the culture and cuisine of South Asia. From Bhangra to Basmati to Bollywood music, this event has all the ingredients to make festival visitors feel like they’ve traveled the world. The TD Festival of South Asia takes place August 23-24 from 12:00 – 11:00 p.m. in Gerrard India Bazaar between Greenwood and Coxwell Avenue. The entertainment line-up promises to be a showstopper.

The Festival began in 2003 as a one day event and it attracted more than 25,000. From 2004, the festival was extended to 2 days. Now, after a decade the event has become one of the largest South Asian festivals in Toronto attracting almost 250,000 revelers. The TD Festival of South Asia is one of Toronto`s best South Asian events, showcasing the diversity our multicultural city has to offer from music to the arts, culture and food.

The street will be lined up with various types of tastes from all over South Asia offering diverse cuisines and delicacies from all the restaurants on the street. The main stage will feature dancing, fashion shows, and authentic South Asian cultural programs reflecting Indian, Afghani, Pakistani, Bengali and Sri Lankan cultures. Off-stage, visitors will be enticed by the wonderful foods offered by more than 20 different restaurants and priced from one to six dollars.
