Cebu Pacific May Partner with Saudi Budget Carrier Flynas

As Cebu Pacific aims to strengthen its position in the Middle East, the carrier may look to expansion through partnership opportunities. Most recently, Cebu Pacific enjoyed a successful partnership with low-cost carrier Air Arabia, when it temporarily flew to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. But now it seems a Saudi budget carrier may be interested in becoming Cebu Pacific’s second partner in the Middle East.

Orange juice: Is ‘premium’juice actually more natural?

The cartons say “100% pure and natural.” But juice-drinkers who believe that premium juice is minimally processed and freshly made may find that their glass is only half full.

A joint investigation by CBC Marketplace and Radio-Canada’s L’épicerie reveals that much of the premium not-from-concentrate orange juice on the market, including juices from Tropicana, Simply Orange, Oasis and others, is highly processed and may be stored for several months before making its way to supermarket shelves.

That processing may keep the juice from spoiling, but it also strips the flavour, which has to be put back into the product to give the juice its orange flavour.

Pride baby turns 1 ahead of upcoming Toronto parade

It was almost a year ago to the day when a picture of two men, Frankie Nelson and BJ Barone, holding their new born baby in the delivery room was taken.

It was a private, special moment between two men becoming parents for the first time.

Aside from this being a picture of a same sex couple, shirtless, holding their newborn baby boy, what was also so unique about this moment was that the child was born the day of the 2014 Pride Parade in Toronto – he was a Pride baby and a bit of a celebrity.

Last year Global News met up with the Fathers just a week after their son was born.

30 hurt as cruise ship from Montreal to Toronto hits lock wall

MASSENA, N.Y.—Authorities say 30 people were injured when a cruise ship crashed into a wall in a lock on the St. Lawrence Seaway last night.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the Saint Laurent was headed from Montreal to Toronto when it hit a wall in the Eisenhower Lock in Massena, N.Y., near the Canadian border.

There were 274 passengers and crew aboard, and the coast guard says most of them are French nationals. It’s unclear if there were any Canadians on the ship.

Twenty-seven injured passengers and three injured crew members had to be removed from the ship with the help of fire officials late last night. Two people were seriously hurt, while the rest had minor injuries.

Petty officer second class Lauren Laughlin says the ship has a hole in its bow which was causing the vessel to take on water.

She says water was drained from the lock to prevent the ship from sinking, with crews hoping to move the vessel down the seaway later today to an area with a pier so the rest of the passengers can easily disembark.

The Saint Laurent is owned by International Shipping Partners.

The crash remains under investigation.
