Toronto’s first ever festival of citizen engagement of action, co-presented by Evergreen CityWorks and United Way Toronto, will see over 100 community-driven projects taking place around the city on 1 day.

From potluck picnics to urban scavenger hunts, come out and interact with fellow Torontonians, and discover how these activities can make bring people together and make our city a better place.

The annual All-night Jewish Learning Festival, in celebration of the holiday of Shavuot, is back for its sixth year at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (MNjcc). This truly enlightening event is the largest of its kind in Canada and combines traditional and contemporary approaches to Jewish lifestyle, practices and concerns. The Festival is truly “doors-open Judaism,” a diverse, inclusive experience where everyone is invited to nourish their own interests and try something new with over 40 unique free workshops.

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre’s 3rd annual Toronto Japanese Film Festival will return June 12-27, 2014 with a new 18 film line-up.

The Toronto Japanese Film festival is dedicated to showcasing the finest Japanese films that have been recognized for excellence by Japanese audiences and critics, international film festival audiences and the Japanese Film Academy. The 2012 and 2013 festivals attracted large crowds, a broad demographic from all over the GTA and exit surveys indicating that audiences genuinely enjoyed the films. With the lectures, receptions, culinary seminars, gallery exhibitions and performances that were part of the two-week festival, our visitors numbered in the tens of thousands.
