Tune Hotel Danga Bay, Johor Bahru

来Tune新山金海湾店住目的当然是为了访问新加坡。这酒店价格比新加坡可便宜多了。我平均每晚只花了1元多马币。

新山的机票也往往比新加坡便宜。我从古晋飞来机票含税22马币。

从新山机场到新马边境有一趟直达巴士，票价8马币。去Tune酒店也可搭乘，让司机放你在Uda下车（见文末地图）。但我选择搭乘更便宜的黄色的333路普通巴士。333路巴士可以一直开到Larkin长途车站，全程票价3.5马币。去Tune酒店要在Uda下车，票价3马币。行车约至少半小时后，可以看到右前方的Tune酒店，途中唯一一个候车亭建在路边高台的站就是Uda了。从这里步行到酒店约15分钟，打的约5马币。日后要去Larkin搭长途汽车也在这里上车。

Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum新山华族历史文物馆

42 Jalan Ibrahim 80000 (200m south east of the main post office in downtown JB), ? +60 7 2249633, fax:+60 7 2249635. Housed in a restored 4-storey building. Learn about the history and culture of the Chinese community in Johor Bahru. The displays are spread out over four storeys. There are numerous captioned photos on display, several TV screens showing video clips, objects/artifacts on display, mannequins dressed in traditional Chinese wedding clothes, a replica of the entrance door and sedan chair of the Roufo Chinese Taoist Temple in Jalan Trus, etc. Open Tue-Sun 9AM-5PM (last admission 4PM), closed on Mon. Adults RM5.

The ground floor exhibition is free.

Kuching Sunday Market古晋周末市场

The Sunday Market, which actually starts on Saturday afternoon, is held at Jalan Satok. It is renowned for the Bidayuh ladies who set up shop here selling fruit and vegetables, but there are also many good Chinese and Malay stalls. Goods on offer include handicrafts, forest produce(including delicious wild honey), pets of all descriptions, orchid plants, live fish, and a whole range of local snacks and delicacies. The market is a must for weekend visitors, as it is very colourful and teeming with shoppers. The best time to go is Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
