（联合早报网讯）共同社报道，大阪市市长吉村洋文周一就美国旧金山市计划接受民间团体赠送的象征慰安妇问题的少女像一事，回答媒体询问时表示，如果旧金山市接受赠送，就会取消友好城市关系。
少女像被安放在临近旧金山市中华街一座公园的一角，上周五举行了揭幕式。华裔和韩裔的团体主张设置该像。旧金山市议会2015年不顾日裔团体等的反对，通过敦促市政府等设置少女像的决议。
大阪市与旧金山市1957年起成为友好城市。
OSAKA–The mayor of Osaka is threatening to sever sister-city ties with San Francisco if it goes ahead with a planned move to further legitimize an existing “comfort women” statue.
Speaking to reporters at Osaka city office on Sept. 25, Hirofumi Yoshimura denounced the U.S. city’s plan to integrate the plot of land containing the statue into a municipal park, decrying it as “Japan-bashing.”
The statue was erected Sept. 22 on land adjacent to the park by a private group of Chinese-Americans and others, according to the Osaka city government.
Comfort women refers to those who were forced to provide sex to wartime Japanese soldiers. Many of them were from the Korean Peninsula.
Yoshimura said he will mail a written objection to San Francisco’s plan this month.
He and former Osaka Mayor Toru Hashimoto have already sent five letters to San Francisco objecting to the statue.
The inscription on the statue states that hundreds of thousands of women were sexually enslaved.
Yoshimura said of that claim, “It is against the standpoint of Japanese government. It is Japan-bashing based on a one-sided view.”
Osaka and San Francisco established sister-city ties in October 1957. Representatives of San Francisco are scheduled to visit Osaka next month to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the partnership.
But Yoshimura said, “If San Francisco accepts (the statue) at municipal government level, I can’t shake hands with them and smile.”
The San Francisco municipal government adopted a resolution supporting the statue’s installation in September 2015.
