Inbound for a Bali Landing Three International Airlines Eye Routes to Bali

(5/10/2015) Three international airlines are exploring opening air routes to Bali.

The State News Agency Antara quotes Robert D. Waloni, the marketing and business development manager of PT Angkasa Pura I, the airport management authority for Bali, who confirmed the interest from the three foreign airlines and said that in anticipation of more flights Bali’s airport continues to improve its facilities and services.

“We are planning to add facilities such as a rapid exit taxiway to allow the current limit of 24 flight movements per hour to 28 -30 flight movements,” explained Waloni.

The three foreign airlines considering new services to Bali include Myanmar National Airlines and two Shanghai, China-based carries: Beijing Capital Airlines and Spring Airlines.

The growing demand for Bali as a destination by the Chinese market has also prompted Indonesia AirAsia to create a secondary air hub in Bali by stationing a wide-bodied aircraft on the island to conduct flights to Chinese destinations.
