（中央社记者林憬屏曼谷2日专电）泰国日前宣布8月到10月将给予台湾与中国大陆游客免签证费，“曼谷邮报”（Bangkok Post）今天网站即时新闻报导，签证免费措施已送到内政部，近日预期将通过实施。
泰国外交部常务次长席哈萨（Sihasak Phuangketkeow）今天表示，他会请内政部宣布此事，外交部也将提醒泰国驻北京大使馆与驻台北办事处着手准备，一旦王室公报刊登确定后，就开始实施。
但席哈萨也强调，工作签证、泰国暂时居留证等仍要收费。
由于泰国免签证费3个月措施迟未公布，台湾旅游业者间7月底传言此案将喊卡，但泰国观光局澄清，3个月免签证费正在准备作业。
A plan to give free visas to Chinese and Taiwanese tourists visiting Thailand is expected to be approved after it is presented to the Interior Ministry on Monday.
Sihasak Phuangketkeow, the permanent secretary for foreign affairs, said on Saturday that he would ask the Interior Ministry to announce the visa waiver.
Under the plan, the waiver would be in effect until Oct 1 to stimulate tourism in Thailand.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry would also alert the Thai embassy in Beijing and the Thai consulate in Taipei to be prepared to offer the service once confirmation is published in the Royal Gazette, Mr Sihasak said.
Visas for work and temporary residence in Thailand would remain subject to fees, he added.
Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, chief of the National Council for Peace and Order, earlier said he with the proposal by the Tourism Council of Thailand and organisations serving Chinese tourists to exempt the 1,000-baht visa fee for Chinese and Taiwanese tourists.
