Mt Helix Park with a huge Christian Cross on the peak is one of the most recognized landmarks in San Diego County.
Mt. Helix Park was built in 1925 high above 1370 foot mountain peak as a memorial to Mary Carpenter Yawkey who died at the age of 85 in San Diego and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw County, Michigan.
