今天是国庆日，放烟花是主要的庆祝活动，大多区有多个地点有烟花汇演供市民观赏，包括：多市Ashbridges Bay(9时30分)、Canada Square(255 Queens Quay West，10时40分)和旺市的奇妙乐园(Canada Wonderland，10时)等等。
多市政府提醒市民，注意在点燃烟花时要留意人身安全，并应注意市府的相关附例。市民可以在自己後园放烟花，但不可以到公园作个人的烟花表演。消防局说，市民若在自己的後园放烟花，应注意下列安全措施∶
(1)烟花应向持有有效的烟花销售许可证的零售商购买，并仔细阅读包装上的说明。
(2)烟花应将存放儿童难以触及的地方。点燃烟花时，应确保烟花远离易燃物品，包括建筑物和树木等。切勿在室内点燃烟花。用过的烟花应浸在水中，或在安全地方冷却。
(3)不要让儿童点燃烟花。应让儿童在安全距离内观看烟花。负责点燃烟花的成人应使用保护眼睛装备。不要将已点燃的烟花抛掷给其他人，或将烟花放在衣袋内。 家园 论坛
