Le Montclair Montmartre

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

在Hostels.com上也有这间酒店2欧元的房。

E-mail,“The correct price per night is 89.9 euros per night, but as we don’t know what happend with the booking, we give you a discount for 70 euros per night.”

2€ Paris Hotel – Le Montclair Montmartre

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

On June 22nd, while I was browsing HostelWorld.com in search of a place to stay in Paris, I noticed what I thought a fantastic early bird promotion at Le Montclair Montmartre.

The room rate was set at 2€/room which is much more expensive than Tune Hotel early bird rates. But this is Paris, so everything should be a little more expensive.

I successfully made a booking for a few nights and received a confirmation email from HostelWorld.com. Later, I received another “Reservation Confirmation – Le Montclair Hostel, Paris” email from bonjour@lemontclair.com. Both have confirmed the same low price.

Since the price is so low, I want to double check to make sure. I opened HostelBooker.com to make the same search and found they have the same (I thought) promotional rates of 2€/room.

I couldn’t help but book a few more nights since this was such a great deal. I soon received one confirmation email from HostelBooker.com and another directly from the hotel. Again, they confirmed the 2€ rate.

Out of curiosity, I triple checked their price at Hostels.com. Guess what? Same low price of 2€/night.

I booked one more night via Hostels.com and received the confirmation email from Hostels.com which also confirmed the price should be 2€/night.

Hotel manager Romuald BORCEUX sent me his first email

Romuald BORCEUX, who claims to be the Manager & Directeur of Le Montclair hostel, says in the email, “The correct price per night is 89.9 euros per night, but as we don’t know what happend with the booking, we give you a discount for 70 euros per night.”

What a bargain! Le Montclair hostel only wants me to pay 35 times the price I should pay. I should prepare thousands of dollars more for them?

I had 3 confirmation letters from HostelWorld.com, HostelBooker.com & Hostels.com, 2 confirmations letters sent out by the hotel directly. All have confirmed the same 2€ rate. Why should I pay more?

I replied Romuald BORCEUX in email and told him my position.

Email from Romuald BORCEUX, says “I will contact Hostelworld to inform them and transfer your answer to see with them what is the best solution.”

Email from bonjour@lemontclair.com, Subject “Reservation Confirmation – Le Montclair Hostel, Paris”.

This email again confirmed the price, “Total Cost (incl. TAX) EUR 1.80″ (I’ve paid 10% deposit to Hostels.com)

Did they change their minds? Will they change their minds again? How much should I pay? I will demand re-confirmation from them and update the post. So far, they just avoid me. I haven’t heard any words from them since June 23.
